As part of an ongoing initiative to contribute to local charitable programs, WWT's Tempe, AZ, team joined up on a recent Friday afternoon to support the Special Olympics event.
WWT's Tempe team decided to focus on getting involved in a quarterly charitable event this year, and they kicked things off by supporting Special Olympics Arizona on Friday, April 5th.
WWT friends and family spent an evening supporting an event that featured some remarkable athletes with many amazing talents. WWT team members helped time the track races, record scores, announce athlete names, and even awarded medals during the awards ceremony.
WWT's charitable spirit shined in the final weeks of 2012
While the holiday season is a joyous time for many, the unfortunate truth is not everyone gets to experience those joys. In keeping with a strong tradition of helping those less fortunate, World Wide Technology ended 2012 with a big push in its charitable efforts.
In the last three months of the year, WWT employees and team members donated over $500,000 to various charities, and collected over 3,800 toys to donate to local children.
World Wide Technology’s Chairman and co-founder, Dave Steward, recently took a few moments to contribute to the WWT blog by discussing his approach to reflecting on the results of the current year while preparing for the year ahead. CEO Jim Kavanaugh also shared a few comments as WWT is set to roll out two new core values that will continue to help shape the company’s culture.
