A leading Manufacturer in a state of hyper growth was experiencing compliance risk due to shadow IT, an influx in costs and overrun IT personnel due to disparate collaboration applications throughout the organization.
Seeing an opportunity to develop a holistic collaboration solution and improve their user experience, the organization procured Cisco UC tools that included WebEx, Jabber, video conferencing and phones.
Lacking the internal staff and capabilities to effectively roll out these products to their internal users, the organization enlisted WWT’s Collaboration and Adoption Services teams to help integrate these disparate products, get employees to adopt the technology and ultimately realize the value of their IT investments.
We first met with the organization for a discovery meeting to discuss their business goals and IT challenges. The organization expressed their need for rapid decision-making and product deployments to support the pace of their epic growth.
With these outcomes in mind, our experts determined we needed to create a stable video platform to connect the organization’s global offices as a first step toward improved collaboration. Our collaboration experts worked with the organization to procure telepresence endpoints, including Cisco SX10s and SX20s, to build out a global video conferencing solution that could easily scale.
Additionally, we integrated and trained users on UC tools, like Cisco WebEx and Jabber, to create a seamless integrated meeting experience.
Our adoption services experts held training workshops on-site and virtually for the organization’s internal users. These sessions included creative training videos that were tailored to the organization’s active culture and outlined the ease of use of each UC tool.
Since the Manufacturer’s inception, employees had been using unapproved collaboration applications like Slack, HipChat, Skype and GoToMeeting for their chat and video conferencing tools.
After training from WWT, employees are now using Telepresence and WebEx features to join meetings from their mobile devices and screen share from their laptops as part of their everyday workflow. Employees say they’re more productive by being able to quickly communicate with peers on a unified platform.
To date, we have conducted training workshops for 600 users on-site and virtually. The organization also has access to workshop videos for ongoing, internal training sessions.
The Manufacturer now has a scalable, holistic collaboration solution in place that can keep pace with their continuous growth. Ultimately, this yields substantial workforce productivity gains for the organization and frees up IT to focus on more strategic efforts.
With the rollout of their Telepresence and Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) technology underway in Europe and Asia, the organization has already begun to see adoption of their UC tools domestically and a decline in unapproved communication applications.
The organization has asked WWT to conduct more training workshops post-deployment of their video conferencing solution to expand training to their international offices.
